Last summer I visited some friends in Boston and had the best time. Essentially because it was non stop eating and drinking. A highlight was the food truck scene at the SoWa market. I can’t remember which truck I procured said delicious beverage from but it was super tasty and refreshing. I’m gonna try to dig and figure out which. Anywho, I forgot I had some lavender in the cabinet the other day and found it while hunting for a snack and decided to throw this together on my own. It turned out awesome! I like my lemonade on the tart-er side, so adjust the simple syrup to your liking. Also feel free to toss in other add ins to your lemonade like fresh berries or other herbs. Basil would be bomb.
- juice of 3-4 average size lemons (You can totally cheat and use lemon juice (I did.)) Whatever gets you to 1/2 cup of lemon juice
- 5 cups of water
- 1 cup simple syrup (Simple syrup is stupid easy to make. Google is your friend. I used agave nectar for mine.)
- 2 TBS dried lavender
Cool your simple syrup and then add in to a pitcher filled with the lemon juice, lavender and water, stirring. Adjust to taste - adding more juice, more sugar, etc. Serve in glasses with ice. Boom.
**PRO TIP - Add vodka if you’re feeling boozy, or my favorite - St. Germaine. Its herbiness would be awesome in this.
